Aluma starts by syncing a student's real classes, assignments, and due dates from platforms like Google Classroom and Canvas. That real context is what lets the tutor coach an actual assignment instead of a generic version of the question — a narrow, defensible starting point rather than a general purpose chatbot.

Every interaction updates a mastery ledger per topic, which then drives quizzes, review, and test prep.
Each stage feeds the next: what's due shapes what gets taught, what gets taught shapes what's tested, and what's tested feeds back into what's due next. Closing that loop, instead of solving one stage in isolation, is the core product bet.
Real class context is hard to copy.
Any team can wrap a chat interface around a language model. Far fewer can reliably sync a student's actual classes across a fragmented landscape of school platforms, and fewer still can turn that context into a tutoring session and a mastery record that improves over time. That connector breadth, plus the accumulated learning history per student, is what compounds and is harder to replicate than the chat layer alone.
Built by someone who used it first.
Aluma is built by Krish Venkatraman, an independent builder who started the project after living the exact problem it solves: school tools that held assignments in one place, study help in another, and tutoring that never understood the actual class.
